The green & white 172 is called the "Ghost Ship." It was parked/unused next to our planes for about four years. When our club-owner finally inquired about its status he learned that the owner had bought the plane for his daughter, a young CFI who loved flying out of BFI. Unfortunately the woman died tragically in a plane crash somewhere in Oregon. The Dad evidentally was too sad to deal w/ his daughters plane and continued paying for the parking space. Anyway, our club bought & repaired it. Now it's used for IFR flights.

KBFI NE parking looking south to Rainier. The flight museum is just out of the shot on the right. On the left, there is a helicopter school out of frame, a couple fractional carriers (note the Lear), a ramp for DHL, and a smörgåsbord of other planes stretching all the way down the field. Last week there was a rack of F/A-18s parked behind the yellow DHL 767 on the left. On Friday, one was taxiing out to take off, and missed the A-1 taxiway which you can see in the middle of the picture, and he ended up getting stuck in general aviation parking, about where I am standing for this picture. He had a devil of a time turning that ship around, and his thrust blew all of our charts and crap all over the place.
